Hey guys, Always been a fan of Nissan's sportier cars but never really had the chance to own one, and finally got my hands on a '93 N/A 300zx with a manual transmission and only 80k miles last week. I don't really know much about cars or how to work on them, but one of the reasons I sprung for this 300zx was that I've always been interested in learning. After test driving the car and looking over it, I drove it home, but I'm not sure what to do next. I looked at a lot of guides online, but most of them seem to be pretty vague and assume that you know how to work on cars already. I'm going to be taking the 300zx to a mechanic this week just to get a preventative look-over / check-up on anything I might have missed or anything that might pop up and be a problem in the future, but what can I do myself as far as maintenance, repairs, and preventative work goes? A post on the Z32 wikia said to start by cleaning all the electrical connectors for corrosion, but doesn't list where any of these connectors actually are. I tried consulting the 300zx manual but got way in over my head. Anyways, to put it in short: what would I need to do to learn how to work on my car, and what kind of work can I do on it myself? Does anyone have a checklist of general maintenance and look-overs to do for a new owner of a 300zx?
